rushes/esp & improv

rushes/esp was an improv practice conceived for performance as an opportunity for musical collaboration and cross discipline working with spoken word artists and storytellers - including writer Max Porter ('The Fable of Able Stain'), musician & poet Jasper Pattison, poet Adam Horowitz and other spoken word artists including Omar Majeed & Louis Hughes. 

as a 4-piece (me, Mark, Alex Gordon, Daniel Fordham) we developed original improvised soundscapes drawing on traditions in folk, free jazz, electronic music, minimalism and drone.

other improv experience - work with vocal improv teachers and facilitators including Guillermo Rozenthuler, Briony Greenhill, Siobhan Nolan and Ruana Xerri-West.

also workshopping with ONe_Orchestra New, recording and playing with Jacken Elswyth, a collaboration around the creation of a 6 hour durational drone with musicians from around the UK incuding Raymond MacDonald, Gayle Brogan, Elizabeth Still, Steve Malley and Nic Jonah Davies.
